About Me
Gerry Blakeman, LMFT
I have been a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 2004 and have had my private practice at this same office since then. I have been married to my husband, Ken, for 46 years and have three grown children and six grandchildren. I love the work I do with couples and families to help navigate the sometimes very difficult decisions and challenges that happen along the way. I have a systems and attachment theory perspective and work from a Narrative approach. Your story is always the most important and looking at that story can help you bring different meaning to some experiences in your life. I also love to work with individuals completing or in the middle of Addictions Recovery and attempt to bring in the spouse/partner and family members to help the integration of new behaviors, feelings and attitudes which change and impact the system.
I have received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT); I am a certified trainer for Couple Communication Programs; I am certified in the PREPARE/ENRICH Programs.
I am a member of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapists and AzAMFT, and have worked on that Association’s Fall Conference committee for the last 10 years. I am also a Licensed Supervisor for Associate Licensees.
Welcome to Gerry Blakeman Marriage & Family Counseling and I look forward to working with you, whether a couple, family or individual!
