I work with couples or individuals dealing with the following issues:
- Couples: Premarital and Marital Therapy
- Communication skills building
- Families, Parenting issues, adolescents
I provide a safe place for you and your family to explore all that is going on and all that is needed to help you reach your goals. It is my commitment to work together to help you make the positive changes you are seeking. My work also includes helping individuals dealing with grief, depression and anxiety through a systemic, narrative approach to therapy. I want you to reach the positive goals you set out!
One of the modalities I use with couples is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This helps couples delve into the deeper underlying emotional feelings that are often overlooked as you look for ways to “get over it” to solve your problems. You may find yourselves having the same fights over and over. EFT can help clarify your pattern and find new and satisfactory ways to strengthen your bond! You can learn more about EFT by going to their website: www.iceeft.com
I use the PREPARE/ENRICH premarital tool in my Premarital therapy program. You can find out more about this tool at www.prepare-enrich.com I use this tool to discuss in session the various marital topics that are important for each of you to explore and gain understanding of you and your partner. We explore your Family of Origin and your Relationship Expectations. Research shows that learning healthy communication skills and using a premarital tool for exploration will increase your satisfaction in the first five years of your marriage. I look forward to working with you during this cycle of your relationship.
I am certified with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health to offer Supervision to Licensed Associates and am honored to work with you as you move towards full Licensure. My supervision style is from a Narrative Theoretical approach as we work together to reach your goals through:
- discussing the meaning the client’s presenting problem has to you and to the client
- treatment planning and how you are thinking about the problem
- documentation review
- professional development
- self care
- collaborating with you to reach your goals as you grow in your profession and move to Licensure
